GAS GAINS
With the sighting of an important gasfield in Bhola, in the south islands on the tip of Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh's gas reserves will soon go up 10 per cent from the current reserves of 10,000 billion standard cubic feet. The gas find which will become the 18th commercial gasfield, has also increased optimism on the future of the country's energy resource. The find was made by Bhapex, a subsidiary of the state-owned PetroBangla energy group.
