November 10, 2006: Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association uprooted Bt paddy from a field in Coimbatore's Ramnathapuram village. Following the incident the Tamil Nadu government is contemplating to bring a state legislation to ban GM field trials within the state
November 23, 2006: The Chhattisgarh government alleged that GM trials are going on in fields near Raipur without prior permission. Government officials destroyed the field in the presence of the state agriculture minister
