The Madras High Court has closed the writ petition filed by Sterlite Industries, following the permission granted by the Chief inspector of factories, Chennai, and the deputy inspector, Tirunelveli, to restart the factory's operations at Tuticorin. The committee which was appointed to investigate the causes for the explosion of the Rotary Holding Furnace on August 30, submitted its report on October 8. Some safety measures were adopted by the petitioner on November 1 and the start of the factory was permitted on November 5
