Economic impact assessment of climate change in key sectors in Nepal: study implementation plan
This report summarizes the implementation plans for the main phase of the Economic Impact Assessment of Climate Change in Key Sectors in Nepal study, including the approach and methods proposed. The primary objectives for this study are to: provide headline and sectoral estimates of the impacts and economic costs of climate change for key sectors in Nepal (the agriculture and water sectors), and provide a ranking of climate compatible development options to address the risks identified in these areas. The approach proposed starts with the current and looks to the future. By considering development and sector plans, it also grounds the study in country and regional policy, assessing the risks of climate change to these plans and the actions needed to mainstream resilience. Finally the summary presents the proposals for capacity building in country, and stakeholder consultation and communication plans.
