LPG in Mumbai
following a green signal given by the Union government for using liquefied petroleum gas ( lpg ) as an auto fuel, two lpg stations were recently set up in Mumbai. The stations have been set up at Cadell Road and Andheri. Each of the lpg stations, constructed by Larsen & Tubro ( l&t ), will be able to cater to at least 250 vehicles per day. "The total time taken to fill the fuel tank of each vehicle will be about three minutes,' said P D Khedkar of l&t . To start functioning, the stations are waiting for the Union government's regulations on the exact mode of operation for lpg usage. The price of lpg has not been fixed as yet, though it will be subsidised as is the case with domestic lpg cylinders.
