Steel steal
The iron hand of the law has fastened on the Rourkela steel plant. Owned by the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), it has been served a show-cause notice for bucking the Anti-Pollution Act. Ten units of the plant have been found to be emitting excessive iron and coal particles, and poisonous gases. SAIL has asked for more time, claiming that the slump in the global steel market has knocked the bottom out of the funding mechanism.
