Tremor monitoring
The Union government, the Geophysical Research Institute and the meteorological department along with six other departments have been issued notices by the Delhi high court on a petition seeking setting up of a mechanism for constant monitoring of tremors. Experts have predicted bigger earthquakes in the coming decade. Petitioner B L Wadhera, said there are no guidelines for making multi-storied buildings earthquake-proof in Delhi.
