India disaster report 2012
This document reports on 2012 major disasters in India, especially those for which the state governments have called on the Central Government for support, such as floods and heavy rain in Assam, Uttarkashi, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh (Nilam cyclone). It also considers some unique disaster events which caused a huge loss of lives and from which lessons can be learnt. It features: road accidents; extreme weather events and others; NIDM activities; and a list of disasters in which 10 or more human lives were lost.
