Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vikrant Kumar Tongad Vs. Environment Pollution Authority & Ors. dated 11/02/2014 regarding pollution resulting from burning agricultural remnants in the open fields. NGT also directed the Ministry of Agriculture to hold a meeting of all the States including State of Punjab and Haryana, CPCB and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi and prepare composite and complete guidelines for preventing and controlling the pollution resulting from burning agricultural remnants in the open fields, modality and time frame for its implementation which should be placed before the Tribunal.
