Unsafe water
The green bench of the Calcutta High Court has directed the state health secretary to submit a report on the quality of drinking water supplied in the city. The order was passed on the basis of an old case filed by Gour Kishore Ghosh, a journalist who alleged that due to leakage in the underground supply system, drinking water was mixing with drain water.
