The problem with the employment guarantee scheme (egs) in Ahmednagar gets compounded by the fact that Ahmednagar is also covered under the central government's Drought Prone Areas Programme (dpap). Discussion with district officials and villagers shows egs is not a favourite. " egs involves minutely detailed plans and lot of paper work.
