Districts that are badly off have got the short shrift

Districts like Bidar, Bellary, Chitradurga and Gulbarga, are badly affected, but no special efforts have been made to take care of the problem. In Bidar, ration cards of people below the poverty line have been taken back. But they are being asked to produce these cards at the hospitals for treatment. Food from the public distribution system is inadequate, which means there are lots of undernourished people who are more vulnerable. The disease has further skewed the balance in employment guarantee programmes
