Auto rickshaws used for advertising

Auto rickshaws used for advertising The auto rickshaw, the common person's transport in Indian cities, often hamstrung by poor public transport system, is becoming an unconventional yet cost-effective advertising tool. Recently many websites have put up their ads on these ubiquitous vehicles. "Advertising on the back of auto rickshaws has been a tremendous experience for us. What we got was beyond our expectations,' Faisal I Farooqui, founder and chief executive of MouthShut.com, a website where people can log on and share their views on any product, told the news agency ians.

Companies like this have it ridiculously cheap. The mode of payment to the auto rickhaw-owners is one-time which can range anything from Rs 100-150, and the quality of the paint used for writing the name of the website on the hood of the auto cannot be easily removed. Each company targets around 100 autos."If an auto owner comes back after six months and the name is still there, we pay him an amount,' said Rakesh Verma, ceo of mapmyindia.com, a portal which deals with interactive mapping systems.
