Air pollution from waste disposal: not for public breath
Air pollution issues from waste incineration activities across Europe may be “significant” and “serious”, a report produced for Zero Waste Europe argues. The study finds that the release of pollutants to air, soil and water is “an unavoidable consequence of waste incineration”, despite the adoption of pollution abatement measures, and calls for more emphasis on recycling, reuse and waste prevention to avoid use of incineration.
