Question raised in Lok Sabha on Mineral Production Index, 21/12/2015. Index of Industrial Production (IIP) covers mining sector, manufacturing and electricity with the corresponding weights 14.157%, 75.527% and 10.316% respectively. The base year for the present series of IIP is 2004-05. As per available information, the index of mineral production for the last three years and the current year is given in this document. Details of contribution of public sector and private sector in value of mineral production (excluding atomic and minor minerals) is also given. The details of sector wise mineral production during the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 is annexed.
