Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding imposition of penalty upon the brick field owners, West Bengal, 22/12/2015
Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of M/S Babu Bhagwat Singh & Others Vs. Joydeep Mukherjee & Others dated 22/12/2015 regarding imposition of penalty upon the brick field owners who have been operating their brick fields without valid consent to establish or consent to operate from the PCB.
NGT finds that these two brick fields have valid consent to operate from PCB, the closure order obviously was issued wrongly. Accordingly, the Court directs the DL (District Land) & LRO (Land Reforms Officer) to withdraw the closure order within a week and the applicants be allowed to operate their business without any hindrance. The local police authorities and Electricity
authorities shall be informed accordingly to reconnect the electricity.
