Tribals ON warpath
Protesting against the ongoing Polavaram Dam Project (pdp) or Indira Sagar Dam Project, nearly 500 tribals in Polavaram district of Andhra Pradesh (ap), detained a team led by the Mandal development officer, Srinivasa Varma. The officials were attempting to organise a gram sabha in Peda Arkur village of Kunavaram mandal. They were released them after the and the Bhadrachalam sub-collector, Yogita Rana intervened on their behalf. The protesters also ventured into the reserved forest area.
