Smallholder diaries: building the evidence base with farming families in Mozambique, Tanzania, and Pakistan
There are an estimated 500 million smallholder farming households globally, who comprise a large proportion of the world’s poor living on less than $2 a day. In CGAP’s Smallholder Diaries, researchers met with 270 smallholder farmers in Mozambique, Pakistan, and Tanzania every two weeks for a year to understand their agricultural production, income, and expenses. To improve the lives of smallholders, developing solutions specific to each market is critical.
