NASA failed again

  • 30/08/2005

NASA failed again Discovery,us space agency nasa' s space shuttle , returned to Earth on August 9, 2005, after a 14-day trip that has questioned the safety of nasa 's space shuttle programme. A bit of Discovery's insulating foam fell off it at the launch; the shuttle has a fragile heat shield and had to undergo three dangerous round of repairs in the space before returning. The same problem had led to the Columbia space shuttle crash in February 2003.

After Discovery's launch, nasa announced suspension of all future launches till the problem is rectified. It hopes of doing so soon and plans the next launch in September 2005. It says Discovery's "return to flight' has helped it understand the problem better.
