A tale of clean cities: insights for planning urban sanitation from Kumasi, Ghana
This case study is part of a research project by Partnerships in Practice for WaterAid to learn from sanitation planning processes of cities in developing countries that are making good progress in provision of sanitation services to all. The team focused on key drivers affecting progress, the role external agencies played in supporting this process, and the extent to which slums were included and the most vulnerable affected. This case study from Kumasi, Ghana, forms part of the broader study 'A tale of clean cities', in which the research team focused on key drivers of progress, the role of planning exercises, the contribution of development partners and the extent to which the poor were included.
