Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Amendments to CRZ notifications, 18/07/2016. The recent and last amendment to Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 2011 has been notified on 22nd March, 2016 to extend validity of approved Coastal Zone Management Plans (CZMPs) of the coastal States and Union Territories (UTs) up to 31st January, 2017 or till such time the fresh CZMPs are approved by this Ministry, whichever is earlier. State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, and UT Administrations of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep and Puducherry have asked for amendments in the CRZ Notification, 2011.
