ISME and YES Bank launch first of its kind CSR and Sustainable Development program in the country

A ‘first of its kind’ initiative which will help to enable more emphasis on Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs through a curriculum Course to benefit more than 200 Under Graduate students (UG) and 40 Post Graduate (PG) students this year Advanced educative methodologies to be adopted, participative teaching techniques like group discussions, debates and role plays would be the unique characteristics of the curriculum The sessions to include topics such as Introduction & History of CSR, CSR Definitions, Evolution of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Corporate Governance & Ethics, Companies Act, Disclosure of CSR performance & Impact Assessment, Social Return of Investments, Framework for implementation of strategic CSR and Stakeholder Engagement Mumbai, August 30, 2016: Indian School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ISME) and YES BANK Limited today announced the launch of a ‘unique & first of its kind’ curriculum, to fuel Sustainable Development and CSR program. With the unprecedented emphasis on CSR and sustainable development in India, the aim of this industry – academia collaboration is to bring about the necessary sensitivities and nurture the future entrepreneurs to embed environmental and social considerations into business. The mandatory course will be imparted for 1 semester for UG students (6 Lectures – 90 to 120 mins each session) and across 2 Trimesters for PG students (10 Lectures – 90 to 120 mins each session). For PG students, there would be field visits to existing CSR initiatives of YBL/other organizations to get on-ground feedback and develop strategy for new CSR projects. This is the first time an initiative of this sort that has been adopted by an institute and implementing the same though their curriculum. Dr Indu Shahani, Founding Dean, ISME, and Former Sheriff of Mumbai for innovative industry, who was present during the session, also emphasized on the uniqueness of the course, “Never before has the curriculum been designed and taught by experts of the industry. The nature of such courses demands the complete involvement of industry. Having commenced with a step in this direction, we look forward to the steps that will further hone this belief.” Speaking at the launch session, Ms Namita Vikas, Group President and Country Head, Responsible Banking, YES BANK said, “YES BANK over the years has assumed a leadership position in CSR and Sustainable Development.
