Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding Ganga pollution, 13/01/2017
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M.C. Mehta Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 13/01/2017 regarding Ganga pollution. UPPCB, UP Jal Nigam, UPSIDC, NMCG and the Central Pollution Control Board have filed a Joint Report. National Green Tribunal directs all the Respondents particularly, CPCB, UPPCB, UP Jal Nigam, NMCG, UPSIDC and the representative of the State Government to submit to the Tribunal details of all the industrial clusters filed in segment B of phase 1. They shall also submit trade/industrial effluent load in terms of quantity and quality both.
The Counsel appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh, UPSIDC and UPPCB shall also submit as to how many industries are there, besides 1200 industries, the list of which has already been provided and out of which nearly 700 to 800 industries are seriously polluting and comes in red or orange category.
