Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Preservation of Kasauli and its Environs (SPOKE) Vs. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation & Others dated 17/01/2017 regarding hotels being constructed unauthorisely in close vicinity of the Kasauli area, Solan District, Himachal Pradesh.
NGT directs the Department of Town & Country Planning, State of Himachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board to discharge their statutory function and ensure that there is no violation of law resulting in environment and ecological degradation of the area, particularly when these hotels are majorly constructed unauthorisedly and are operating without consent to operate. NGT also directed the State of Himachal Pradesh to inform the Tribunal whether any sewerage system exist in these areas or not.
