Draft guidelines on Environmental Management of C&D Waste Management in India
The draft “Guidelines on Environmental Management of C&D Waste Management in India (2017)” has been prepared by CPCB in compliance of under Duties of the Central Pollution Control Board under Rule 10 sub-rule 1(a) of Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Management Rules, 2016 states ‘- prepare operational guidelines related to environmental management of construction and demolition waste management’. Part II is in compliance of the above-mentioned rule. CPCB has constituted an expert Committee to advise it on matters pertaining to Implementation of C&D Waste Management Rules, 2016 that includes the above Guidelines The key objectives of the Guidelines are intended to: promote an integrated approach , whereby environmental management of construction and demolition waste is given due consideration throughout the duration of the project ; approach has been towards reduction of environmental impacts; and provide both general and specific guidance in relation to the preparation of satisfactory construction and demolition waste management plans for projects which exceed a specified threshold size.
