Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ashwini Kumar & Others Vs. Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 21/07/2017 regarding pollution caused by an industry in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. NGT takes notes of the two inspection reports of the joint inspection team which states that the industry has installed all the anti-pollution devices directed by the joint inspection team and as of present, if the devices operate properly, the industry is not likely to cause any pollution. Taking into consideration the Joint Inspection Report NGT allows the industry to carry on its manufacturing activity with immediate effect and the industry shall be liable to pay a sum of Rs. 15 lakhs as environmental compensation. NGT also directs that the industry shall within a period of three months install in an open area an RO Plant in discharge of its corporate social responsibility to ensure that the villagers around that area can get the water which is portable and can safely be consumed by the residents residing in that area.
