Plastics in life and environment
This book presents the technical story of plastics in a non-technical language for people all around the world. In an engaging narrative, the book talks about the history of plastics as well as the widespread use in our daily lives. It also presents the sectors in which plastics have become the essential material without which it is impossible to imagine the product or the service. In line with the theme of the World Environment Day, the book highlights the environmental costs of plastics. From a solid waste management challenge for cities and rural areas alike, plastics have also emerged as a challenge for our oceans and rivers. The book ends by highlighting the key messages for individuals and organisations on how to deal with plastics in a holistic manner.
