Financing the climate-health nexus: a guide for Developing Countries to access funds
This report developed by the USAID-funded Adaptation Thought Leadership and Assessments (ATLAS) project includes an overview of the funding landscape (global funds, private sector financing, etc.), resources for accessing funding, and case studies that offer insights on how to build climate-resilient health systems in practice. The purpose of this guide and the accompanying tool is to provide information on how to 1) access funds to explore the relationship between climate stressors and human health, and 2) address the challenges and opportunities of funding health initiatives that respond to risks posed by climate change. The primary intended users of these resources are developing country national governments, principally national health ministries in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as public health care professionals, health sector development practitioners, and other stakeholders.
