Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding pollution by spinning mills, Panipat, Haryana, 30/10/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of S. Gurdeep Singh, President’s Welfare Association, Sector-18, HUDA, Panipat & Others Vs State of Haryana dated 30/10/2019 regarding illegal operation of spinning mills manufacturing yarns from waste rugs imported from overseas. In the process, dye and bleach are released into water bodies.
The Tribunal directed the Deputy Commissioner, Panipat and Haryana State Pollution Control Board to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law and furnish a factual and action taken report to the Tribunal within one month. The NGT warned that non-compliance would lead to punitive action including prosecution.
