Report on landfills in Kerala, 01/01/2020
Report by Kerala State Pollution Control Board to the Central Pollution Control Board in OA No. 519 of 2019 dated 01/01/2020. The matter related to mangement of legacy waste. The NGT had directed the Central Pollution Control Board to compile the latest data on the dumpsites with the assistance of State PCBs/PCCs and Secretaries, Urban Development of all the states/UTs within one month and place the information of such dumpsites on its website.
Complying with the National Green Tribunal order of July 17, 2019 the Kerala SPCB submitted an updated list of solid waste dumpsites as on December 28, 2019 alongwith a map showing the location of dumpsites along with its Google earth imagery. The report mentioned that the SPCB was also conducting drone survey in the dumpsites.
