Report by HSPCB on the dumping of garbage and encroachment of pond in Pratap Pur area of Rewari district, Haryana 07/02/2020

Action taken report by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board in the matter of OA No. 729 of 2019 in the matter of Sudhir Bhargawa Vs State of Haryana in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order of September 18, 2019. The matter relates to dumping of garbage and encroachment of pond in Pratap Pur area of Rewari district, Haryana.

In response to the NGT order, inspection of the area on November 20, 2019 revealed dumping of municipal garbage near the pond at village Pratap Pur. The regional office, Dharuhera had directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Rewari to submit an action taken report on non-removal of garbage near the pond. Municipal Council, Rewari gave its reply on November 29, 2019 to the effect that work was being done to remove the encroachments and that drive for removal of garbage from the vicinity of pond was done on a regular basis by the council. Along with awareness program conducted with the public.

The site was again visited by the field officer, HSPCB along with representative of Municipal Council, Rewari and found that the garbage has been removed from the site. The Municipal Council also intimated that it had already allotted the work for the development of Integrated Solid Waste Management at village Ram Singh Pura for the collection, transportation, processing and disposal of solid waste in district Rewari. The council also submitted the details of progress achieved under the Rewari Cluster Project for Management of Solid Waste.
