Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding illegal mining in village Sawanpura Toran, Sikar, Rajashtan, 05/10/2020
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Prahlad Swami & Others Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 05/10/2020.
The application has been filed by Mahant of Dhwajband Mandir, Avinshidham and other pujaries residing at village Sawanpura Toran, Sikar, Rajashtan against illegal mining activities near age old temple and water body. The excavation of minerals was being done without having due clearances and other relevant consents as per laws.
The application stated that the state authorities were in collusion with the miner. The miner had been allotted a mining lease for mineral mainly quartz and feldspar on the land admeasuring 4.29 hectares near village Bhojmer, tehsil Neem-ka-Thana, district Sikar.
In response to the application, the bench of Justice Sheo Kumar Singh directed a Joint Committee to be formed comprising of the District Collector, Sikar, Rajasthan and Regional Officer, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board. The Committee has to visit the place and submit a factual and action taken report within four weeks.
