The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in January 2021, have issued the Marine Mega Fauna Stranding Management Guidelines. The objective of the guidelines on marine mega fauna stranding management is to improve coordination between various independent Government and civil society responding to Marine megafauna stranding, research and management issues, support, share data and thus promote inter-sectoral coordination in the conservation of marine megafauna. These guidelines also provide guidance for the management of marine megafauna stranded on the shore or entrapped in shallow waters, bays and potentially unable to return to the sea.
