Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Pune Municipal Corporation Vs Sus Road Baner Vikas Manch & Others dated 05/04/2021. The matter related to shifting of the wet garbage processing plant on Sus Road in Baner, Pune, Maharashtra.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on October 27, 2020 had directed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to shift the plant within four months, which ended by February 28, 2021.

The PMC had approached the SC and the apex court on February 8, 2021 had stayed the NGT order October 27, 2020 directing the PMC to shift the plant within a period of four months and adjourned the case for four weeks.

The PMC requested the SC April 5, 2021 for a period of three months within which the corporation would locate a suitable alternative site for the garbage  plant. However, the SC agreed to grant  two months time to do the needful. The PMC has been directed to report to the SC with details about the "particular earmarked site" after which further orders would be passed. The case has been listed for July 6, 2021.
