Report by the Oversight Committee, NGT, Uttar Pradesh in the matter of News item published in the The Time of India authored by Vishwa Mohan titled "NCAP with multiple timelines to clean air in 102 cities."

The report consisted of the progress report of the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) containing compliance status till January 2021.

Among other things, the UPPCB report mentioned that the state has prepared an Action Plan for prevention and control of stubble burning for the year 2021 and 350 mobile squads are functional across the state to prevent stubble burning. Further, one field worker has been made in charge for a group of villages and the Gram Pradhan and Lekhpal have been entrusted with the responsibility to ensure compliance.

An EC of Rs. 2,32,500 has been recovered by the state against defaulters.

An Action plan for control of noise pollution has been revised and submitted to the CPCB on January 8, 2021. The Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh has issued an order December 1, 2020 to Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Home for implementation of compensation regime for violation of noise pollution.

Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has been implemented in total 13 cities of Uttar Pradesh including 8 NCR cities and 5 other cities of UP namely Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi and Moradabad. GRAP has been implemented in all 15 Non-Attainment Cities of Uttar Pradesh and the Task Force had also been constituted for implementation of GRAP in 15 NACs.

The report submitted by the Urban Development Department to the UPPCB said that the bioremediation of legacy waste has been started throughout the state. Around 4 lakh tone waste has been remediated for the city of Agra out of 8 lakh ton, while for the cities of Noida (sector 54), Prayagraj and Meerut, bio-remediation projects have been completed.
