Renewable technologies for achieving universal electricity access

While enter the final decade to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, there are roughly one billion individuals without access to electricity globally. However, the last decade has seen significant progress in the electrification process worldwide. This paper discusses the agenda of universal electricity access and the contribution of G20 countries towards achieving the same. It provides an overview of the existing definition of universal electricity access and delves into global electricity access trends. The paper also attempts to address the issue of access by looking at the synergies between electricity access, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
