Action taken report by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board regarding fire in a chemical factory in Pune, killing 18, 16/06/2021.

The factory, M/s SVS Aqua Technologies LLP in Uravade, taluka Mulshi, district Pune made an application for consent to operate to the MPCB on August 14, 2020. In the said application, the industry mentioned the commissioning date of the unit as September 10, 2018.

The industry had applied consent to operate for non-hazardous products. The MPCB granted consent to operate valid up to September 30, 2021.

The MPCB, June 8, 2021 directed the industry to dispose of the waste generated due to fire to CHWTSDF immediately and not to carry out manufacturing activities till they obtain prior permission of the MPCB and Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health.
