State of Green Business 2022
The world we live in together – corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, circular economy, climate technology – is all reaching an inflection point, growing and changing faster than many imagine. In the process, they are shaking up industries, companies, jobs and career paths—mostly for the better, but also in a careful way. The COVID era coincides with the rise of sustainable business in almost every aspect: corporate commitments to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions; green bonds and sustainability-related lending alarming; the unstoppable growth of renewable energy and its falling prices; Mainstreaming of electric vehicles; growing concerns about biodiversity loss and its economic impact, etc. The 15th annual “State of Green Business” report comes at an exciting and perilous time for companies, their stakeholders and the world in general. Business — and, indeed, humankind — is undergoing an epochal transition.
