Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rakesh Verma Vs State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 21/04/2022.
The grievance is that Reliance BP Mobility Ltd. along with Mussoorie Development Authority is in the process of setting up a retail outlet/petrol pump, village Ajabpur Kalan, Dehradun. The applicant, a resident of the area, is concerned that the proposed land is surrounded by residential houses and has school and high tension wires going in vicinity of the land.
The Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, in its report, April 19, 2022 acknowledged the illegality in setting up of the petrol pump and said that the District Magistrate, Dehradun should cancel the permission issued by the District Magistrate. The report filed by the District Magistrate, Dehradun, April 8, 2022 was to the effect that location of the proposed petrol pump is in conflict with the CPCB guidelines, January 7, 2020.
The NGT directed the District Magistrate, Dehradun and the SPCB to take remedial action in accordance with law.
