Report by the government of Rajasthan in Original Application No. 606 of 2018 regarding compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
Around 176 legacy waste dump sites have been identified in Rajasthan and around 370 crore is required to do the remediation work. The timeframe for clearing all dumpsites in the state has been pushed from March 2023 to March 2024. Waste to energy plant work order has been awarded for Jaipur and Jodhpur.
With respect to composting - garden composting and pit composting has been taken in the present processing capacity. 10 plants will cover 15 urban local bodies - cluster approach has been taken. Biomethanation plans in Udaipur (20 TPD) and Dungarpur (7 TPD) plants are operational. Further, in Jodhpur (100 TPD) and Jaipur (400 TPD) biomethanation plant proposal has been provided to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under viability gap funding (VGF) scheme of government of India.
