Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ram Prasad Agarwal Vs State of Rajasthan dated 07/11/2023.
The application was registered on the basis of the letter petition sent by Ram Prasad Agarwal, resident of Srinathpuram, Kota, Rajasthan dated June 23, 2023 with the allegation that the damage is being caused to the natural existence of river Chambal by concretization of the riverbed at Kota, at the instance of one of the minister, which is also causing damage to the biodiversity and the riverine life.
The NGT directed notice to be issued to the Central Pollution Control Board, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Rajasthan Irrigation Department and the District Magistrate, Kota.
