Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Madasir Hasan and Others Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 06/03/2024.
This Original Application has been registered exercising suo-moto jurisdiction of newspaper report sent by Muddasar Hasan complaining that at village Jalandhari, district Azamgarh, there is a low lying area wherein domestic sewage is collected and due to overflow it enters residence of local people causing lot of pollution and health hazards to them and no action has been taken by concerned authorities in the matter.
The NGT directed Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and District Magistrate, Azamgarh to jointly inspect the area, collect relevant information and take appropriate action for remediation and rejuvenation so that the alleged pollution can be removed. Appropriate action should be taken by the committee within two months, the order said.
