Compliance report on solid and sewage management in the state of Assam.
While sewage generated is 435.5 MLD, there is a gap of 413.11 MLD in the state of Assam. 15 MLD of sewage is being bio remediated at Silsako Beel before release into Brahmaputra by GMDA, while 7.59 MLD sewage is present which is generated in the hospitals, hotels, apartments in Guwahati city are being treated in-situ. To mitigate the gap, 340.5 MLD sewage treatment capacity has been planned.
Construction of faecal sludge and septage management (FSTP) in 32 urban local bodies (ULB) of capacity of 352 KLD are taken up with technical assistance from UNICEF. An amount of Rs 39.11 crore is earmarked under 15th FC for the same.
