Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding unchecked cattle sheds in Bidhannagar, Kolkata, West Bengal, 19/03/2024
Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of In Re: Unchecked cattle sheds on the opposite side of police outpost in Bidhannagar, dispute regarding its demolition Vs Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Environment, Government of West Bengal & Others dated 19/03/2024.
Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation was granted time for filing an affidavit showing action taken report with regard to removal of the cattles/cowsheds. The affidavit must explain how the cattle sheds were allowed to come into existence in the first instance within the Bidhannagar municipal area and why action was not taken by the Municipal Corporation at that stage itself to remove them.
