Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Prakash Yadav Vs State of Haryana & Others dated 03/05/2024.
Issue involved in the application related to discharge of household sewage through drains in the pond at village Kharkhada, district Rewari, Haryana. In the joint meeting dated February 23, 2024 it was informed that no black water is flowing into the pond. Grey water generated from the kitchen and bathroom is only flowing into the pond through drains.
Joint committee formed by the tribunal had submitted the report suggesting remedial measures to be taken by Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority (HPWWMA).
Action taken report on behalf of Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority in compliance of the order of the tribunal dated February 22, 2024 stated that the authority has decided to take up the restoration/rejuvenation of pond in question on priority basis and that there are two stages of restoration i.e. planning and physical stage and time required for completing the exercise is 299 days.
Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority has pointed out that the matter is at the stage of sanction for administrative approval pending with the Government. It was submitted that within four months the requisite exercise would be completed, tender would be floated and contract awarded.
