Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of News Item titled "Why 75 % of Delhi’s STPs aren’t ready to tackle Yamuna stink" appearing in The Times of India dated 19.02.2024 dated 03/05/2024.

The matter related to inefficient performance of STPs installed by DJB along the river Yamuna. As per monitoring by DPCC, only 15 STPs are meeting the prescribed effluent standards while other STPs are not meeting the prescribed standards and out of 37 operational STPs, OCEMs have been installed at 34 STPs only. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) submitted that samples have been collected but the report is awaited.

The CPCB requested for more time to file the report, which was granted by the NGT. The NGT directed the CPCB report to be filed within four weeks and listed the matter for August 9, 2024.
