Report by Nellore Municipal Corporation in OA No 315 of 2024 in the matter of Nadavala Ashok Vs MoEF&CC & Others dated 24/02/2025.

The Municipal Corporation in its report said that Krishnapatnam Edible Oils Refiners Association approached Nellore Municipal Corporation to provide doorstep water delivery. The Municipal Corporation responded on March 3, 2022 informing them that a payment of Rs 30 crores in favour of Commissioner, Nellore Municipal Corporation is required to take up the execution of laying of water supply pipeline from Padarupalli reservoir. But, Krishnapatnam Edible Oil's Refiners Association did not turn up and nor has it deposited any amount as sought by the municipal corporation. Till date, the pipeline implementation has not happened.

The report stated that apart from Edible Oils Refiners Association, other industries situated at Krishnapatnam Node, have also requested for supply of water to their doorstep. Considering their request, a preliminary report has been prepared and as per the report the estimated cost of the project is of Rs 107 crores considering the source at Penna Head Water Works is at a distance of 44.87 km. But no company situated at Krishnapatnam Node had approached the municipal corporation "by showing readiness and willing to get water supply to their door step by depositing the amount required to implement" the project.

Nellore Municipal Corporation said that Krishnapatnam Node is not within its limits thus it cannot take remedial measures to restore groundwater levels in the area.
