Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Aparna Sarkar Vs Siliguri Municipal Corporation & Others dated 08/04/2025.
The NGT, April 30, 2024 directed the Siliguri Municipal Corporation that the entire cleaning of legacy garbage and collected waste in the drains and way side, including road side garbage and garbage in localities, colonies and wards, needs to be completed within six months, October 31, 2024.
The Municipal Commissioner, Siliguri Municipal Corporation was directed to file an affidavit of compliance showing full compliance by November 15, 2024.
The NGT, April 8, 2025 was told that the orders of the court has not been complied till date. The NGT directed a notice to be issued to the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The municipal corporation was directed to file a counter affidavit showing compliance of the directions of the NGT order, April 30, 2024.
