Report filed by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board regarding illegal operation of brick kiln, village Ainch, Mathura district, 19/06/2023
Report filed by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order, May 15, 2023 (Kiranpal Singh Vs Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board).
Grievance was that inspite of the order passed by the NGT, July 13, 2022 requiring UPPCB and the District Magistrate to look into the allegation of illegal operation of brick kiln by Pari Eent Udyog, village Ainch, district Mathura - no action has been taken.
The NGT, May 15, 2023 directed submission of a factual report in the matter by the UPPCB and the District Magistrate, Mathura. A joint inspection team visited the brick kilns, June 14, 2023. At the time of inspection, the brick kiln established in the name of M/s Pari Bricks Udhyog, village Ainch was found operational. The team found that brick kiln had obtained Consent to Establish (CTE). However, the CTE was not found in accordance with the guidelines for sitting criteria of Uttar Pradesh Kiln (Site Criteria for Establishment) Rules 2012.
Closure order was issued to Pari Bricks Udhyog. The brick kiln was closed down by pouring water on it and the joint team and sealed. A report has been sent to the UPPCB headquarters, Lucknow regarding imposition of environment compensation and legal action.
