Draft National Electricity Plan for 12th Plan
As per the Electricity Act, 2003, CEA is to prepare the National Electricity Plan (NEP) once in five years. The Act stipulates that CEA, while preparing the NEP, shall publish the draft of the same and invite suggestions and objections thereon from licensees, generating companies and the public. Thereafter, the Plan is to be notified after obtaining the approval of the Central Government. The draft NEP for 12th Plan has been prepared by CEA in 2 volumes i.e. Vol-I on Generation and Vol.-II on Transmission. The draft covers a review of the 11th Plan, 12th Plan in detail and perspective Plan for the 13th Plan.
